AFRICA TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE MUSIC INDUSTRY..
Residents of the war-torn Darfur region have hooked up with starving neighbours in Ethiopia to raise money for the struggling Music Industry. A spokesman for A&RAid said that, ‘Everyday music industry executives are losing their jobs, losing their pensions, losing their company cars and expense accounts. These people have families, children at boarding schools, wives with cosmetic surgery needs and drug dealers who all rely on their income. How could they have foreseen the terrible tragedy of online music and file-sharing.. Okay they had plenty of time to see that coming but they were very busy flogging the cash cow of CD sales, traditional licensing and prosecuting children..” From a series of high profile bring-n-buy sales, goat racing and 'count the rice grains' games, A&RAid hopes to make about $80 with which they hope will cover the cost of a gram of coke to be shared after lunch by a number of executives. Music industry spokesmen, Alasdair 'Cocky' Scott, responded by saying, ‘Yeah, yeah cool-whatever, I’ll call the man now..’
